Exhibit Your Work at the Roti Roti Art Center

The Roti Roti Art Center of Buchanan is currently seeking artists for the 2022-23 traditional exhibit schedule and for short-term market style commitments throughout the year. Please contact us at rotirotiartcenter@gmail.com or call 269-697-4005. Email preferred.

Exhibit Inquiry Process

The Basics

Artists are required to meet with the gallery committee in person at the Art Center to review their work and familiarize themselves with the space prior to any exhibit offer or booking. Groups must send a representative portfolio along with their main point of contact/ Exhibit Coordinator.

Those interested in exhibiting at the Roti Roti Art Center of Buchanan should indicate their interest by sending a proposal, packet, and/or contact information to:

Mail: 117 W. Front St. Buchanan, MI 49107
E-mail: rotirotiartcenter@gmail.com
Call: 269-697-4005

Please do not bring a portfolio for review during regular hours without a prior appointment.

There is no direct cost to artists for exhibiting at the Roti Roti Art Center. All costs for preparing artwork for exhibit are the responsibility of the artist as well as additional promotions and reception accoutrements.

Exhibition Times

We schedule seven or eight rounds of exhibits each year with three to
four coinciding exhibits. Exhibits typically run six weeks and include a
pre-scheduled public reception that artists are required to attend.

Artists who exhibit in the Roti Roti Gallery must wait a minimum of five years before exhibiting in that space again. The Showplace Gallery, Hess Library, and Showcases have a three-year waiting period.

Meeting with the Committee

Interviews are typically scheduled on the first Thursday of the month between 4pm and 6pm. If you are unable to meet during this time, please let us know and we can arrange and alternate schedule.

Conversations are informal and take about half and hour. The committee will ask you questions about your artistic background, type of show you are looking for, theme, media, price range, etc.

Snapshots of your work may be taken during the presentation for internal reference purposes only.

The committee may not offer an exhibit slot right away. The committee likes to review the existing exhibit schedule to offer a variety of work in each time slot.

Artists will be notified in writing of acceptance or denial. Should a proposal be denied, the gallery committee will provide a written statement regarding the decision.

Presentation: What to Bring

Bring 3-4 examples representative of the work you would like to exhibit. They do not need to be ready to hang and may be in-progress.

Additional pieces (or pictures of large sculptures) may be displayed in a portfolio or on a thumb drive. Please let us know at scheduling if you plan to bring digital versions. Cloud based storage is not recommended as network connectivity/ wifi is unreliable.

Additionally, bring an artist statement and bio if you have them.
