2023 Milestones
- Thomas P Fehlner’s donation to our Endowment Fund, held at Michigan Gateway Community Foundation, prompted the renaming of our main gallery, the Fehlner Family Gallery. This generous gift supports our longevity in the community.
- Kim Pruitt was hired as full-time Executive Director in mid-May. Kim is a visual artist with a business background in addition to having community-building and place-making experience.
- Transitioning of a multi-use space into what we now call the Art Studio expanded our visual arts program, as well as written and spoken word, and creative projects involving the community.
- New spray booth equipment was purchased for the Pottery Studio – an asset to creativity.
- With contributions from businesses and community members, we invested much-needed major sidewalk repair. You can now walk, skip, dance into the Art Center on our newly installed sidewalks.
On the Horizon…2024
- The community is invited to assist in creating panels for a downtown mural project in collaboration with LiveBuchanan! the Buchanan District Library and the City of Buchanan.
- Expand art education programs, including visual arts, written and spoken word, a speaker series and casual gatherings to share ideas around art, history and creativity.
- 2024 Summer Chamber Music Concert Series – we proudly present the fourth year in this series of extraordinary quality.
- Goals and dreams are being articulated – all are welcome to participate via teaching a class, serving on a committee, or participating in special events.
Sidewalk Project Update
Thank you to the generous donors who contributed to our sidewalk repair project – we reached our goal and work was completed. Thank you to all purchased memorial bricks – these also supported this effort!
